The Easter Disco
We had lots of Fun on Thursday at the Disco. The best part was the money that we raised for the Famy Unit at Kew Hospital.

What a great term we have had. It's hard to believe that we are at the end of it already. We would like to thank all the parents who have helped over the term. We have had people helping with swimming, maths flash card testing, spelling and those at home who have continued to help your child with homework too. This is always appreciated. Some children will get books to read over the holidays. We hope you have a break and enjoy having lots of time to spend with your children. We wish you a happy Easter and hope that Easter Bunny brings lots of goodies for you and your families.
On Friday we
were lucky enough to have Mel Young a Science Teacher from Southland Girls High
School visit the class and share some amazing science activities with us. Mel
showed us how dry ice doesn’t melt but evaporates. When the dry ice was put
into balloons they got bigger all by themselves! We also saw how acids turn a
universal indicator red, orange or yellow while bases make it turn blue or
green. We had lots of fun watching and trying out all the experiments Mrs Young
brought with her. We want to say a big thank you to Mrs Young and say “We LOVE science”.

We are working on using our senses when we write. We are using the swimming pool as our inspiration.
When you are at the pool you can smell a cooking sausage from a mile away. By Sam.
You can hear the waves crashing against the wall at the pool. By Jamie
You can hear mum's and dad's chatting on the chairs at the pool. By Ricky.
You can taste the chocolate chip cookies from the cafe at the pool. By Katy.
You can see the wavy, light blue water at the pool as it splashes. By Emily L, Emily S, Harvey, Meg and Hadlee.
The water feels warm and wet and silky at the pool. By Caleb, Taine and Hadlee.
Thanks for helping your child get better at their flash cards as the little and often approach is really helping them to move along in their learning.
