Week 6

Wow what a lot of effort and perseverance the children showed on Friday. It was great to see the way the children just got on with the challenge of Cross Country.
On Friday Miro are having a shared lunch to celebrate Benrick and Diane's time here at Myross Bush School. A small plate of food to share with the class would be appreciated. We wish Diane and Benrick  all the best at their new school.
We are all very excited about our new technology challenge. We are designing some storage for our ten Chrome books so that our chargers don't get tangled. We have to imagine a solution, plan how to make it, create our solution, test out our solution, modify and refine our creation and then reflect on how it's worked. Gee we really will be busy!

Fraction fish

Today we made fraction fish. We cut them into halves, quarters, eighths and we had to leave one whole. It was tricky to cut the eighths!!

Week 5

This week we are working hard to improve our ability to run non stop. We are counting the number of laps we can do without having a break. We have learned that we need to go at a steady pace and not to sprint as fast we can. We are all looking forward to Cross-country on Friday.
We are working on fractions in Maths this week, so any discussion about halves and quarters is a great way to reinforce what we are doing in the classroom.
We had a lot of fun when Mrs Young came to do some science with us today and we thank her for sharing her expertise with us.

Balloons

We managed to get 31 students on a table held up by half blown up balloons!

Challenges

Today we were lucky enough to have Mrs Young come and take the children through a technology challenge. We had to make the longest and strongest bridge.

Autumn leaves watercolour painting

We are making our leaves better after we received feedback about our first painting.

Week 4

The children are really enjoying their action stations this week. Through a variety of different activities the children are practising staying on task, listening to a buddy, and improving their work after feedback. We are also practising hard for bootcamp on Friday - this starts at 1pm and is a great, fun way to practise for cross-country. Thanks to the Friends of the School who are organising this experience for the students!

Week 3

We've had a busy week so far, and it's only Tuesday! During Action Stations the children are practicing 'managing self' - Rawe thinks this looks like doing the right thing, at the right time, in the right place. Here, the children are making morse code bracelets.
We've also been practicing hard for 'Bootcamp' next Friday. What a fun way to build up our stamina for Cross Country in Week 5!
