A big thank you to Parker Ormond and the third year students from the Invercargill Campus. We really enjoyed practising our tititoria skills in the Activity Centre.

Last week Rawe were lucky enough to have Mr Parker Ormond and two third year students from the Southland campus come and teach us actions with the tititoria. This was part of our inquiry about play. We are continuing with the tititoria this week. The children are practising the moves we learned and trying out a few that they make up themselves. We are having lots of fun and increasing our skill level in Physical Education this week. We are practising defending and attacking with a basketball. There still seems to be a mountain of spare clothing in lost property so please come and check the box before the end of the term and it all goes! Enjoy the second last week of the term.

Week 7

This week Rata are hosting assembly. If your child has a speaking part they will have a script to practise in their homework book.  Thank you for supporting them with this.  This week we are learning about pictographs and how to read a key on a graph.  The children are making comic life posters about the country that their class is supporting in the world cup.  Rata is supporting Switzerland and Miro is supporting England.

Congratulations Robson on your Silver Medal

Robson won a medal for coming second place in gymnastics at the weekend. We are very proud of you.

What a great day we had at Gorge Road School last Friday. The children put in a great effort running through mud and up hills. A big thank you to all the parents and supporters who helped to make the day such a success. It gave the children an authentic situation to practice their sportsmanship. This week we are working on showing respect towards others. We are learning to listen to others and that it's okay to have a different point of view. Miro is on assembly this week. The children really enjoy seeing friendly faces in the audience so if you can make it on Friday that would be great. You will find the script for their part glued into their homework book.
