Week 5

This week we are having fun making sea creatures with salt dough again. It has been great for the children to work on improving their modelling skills.
Even though the weather is getting warmer we still have quite a few children with coughs and colds and so we are using a lot of tissues. We would appreciate if you could send some along. On a similar note if you have any stationary, especially whiteboard pens still at home we would love to have these for use in the classroom too.
We have started having brain food breaks in the mornings before morning tea. Suitable food to send along for the children to eat include fruit and vegetables.

Counting down

We are learning to subtract by counting down. This group are practising with materials.

This group are trying to work without materials. They have turned their number lines over.

Place Value

Will and Mitchell are using playing cards to learn about place value. The aim of the game is to make the biggest number with the three cards that you draw.
